A massive billboard showing US President Donald Trump lying inside an open black coffin has appeared in Tehran's Enghelab Square amid escalating military tensions between the United States and Iran.
The display showed Trump with his eyes and mouth closed, dishevelled hair, his hands resting on a red tie, and his feet positioned upwards. The image used black concrete barriers associated with funeral ceremonies for late Iranian leader Ali Khamenei, arranged in the shape of a coffin, with Trump depicted inside.
White graffiti across the coffin carried the message "We Will Kill Trump" in both Persian and English. Another line read, "In memory of Minab's children," referring to the southern Iranian city of Minab, where a strike hit an elementary school on February 28.
The provocative display emerged as the US military expanded its campaign against Iran, carrying out strikes on additional targets while also targeting a vessel accused of attempting to violate Washington's naval blockade of Iranian ports.
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) said American forces had completed a new round of strikes against Iranian military infrastructure, including command centres, air defence systems, missile and drone capabilities, and coastal surveillance facilities.
In a statement, CENTCOM said the operation ended at 9 pm ET on July 15 (Wednesday). The strikes involved precision-guided munitions launched against several locations, including Bandar Abbas, a strategically important Iranian port city.
"US forces struck Iranian command centers, air defense sites, missile and drone capabilities, and coastal surveillance facilities to further degrade Iran's ability to threaten innocent mariners crewing commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz. CENTCOM used precision munitions to hit targets in multiple locations, including Bandar Abbas," the statement said.
CENTCOM also said US forces conducted a separate 90-minute operation earlier in the day against Iranian coastal defence and cruise missile facilities on Greater Tunb Island.
"Earlier this morning, American forces struck coastal defense and cruise missile sites on Greater Tunb Island during a 90-minute wave," it said.
Meanwhile, Iranian officials said a missile strike hit areas near a cancer hospital in Ahvaz, located in southwestern Iran, hours after CENTCOM announced the second phase of attacks targeting military capabilities allegedly linked to threats against maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.
Hossein Kermanpour, head of the Public Relations and Information Center at Iran's Ministry of Health and Medical Education, said the strike occurred near Boghayi Hospital 2, which provides treatment for cancer patients.
In a post on X, Kermanpour wrote: "Moments ago, the areas near Boghayi Hospital 2 (dedicated to cancer patients) in Ahvaz were hit by a missile attack. Some patients and their companions, out of fear from the intense sound and severe tremors, have fled the hospital, and now only the most critically ill patients remain!"
Iran's state broadcaster Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) also reported damage to an industrial facility in Qeshm, located in Hormozgan Governorate.
Quoting the Hormozgan governor, IRIB reported: "Following an enemy attack on part of the Souza fish powder factory in Qeshm, limited damage was caused to the factory. Due to the empty location, no injuries have been reported at this time."
The latest developments followed CENTCOM's announcement that US forces had launched a second wave of strikes against Iran, with the operation targeting military assets that Washington said were being used to threaten vessels travelling through the Strait of Hormuz.
